I want to move along with my photos, several smaller towns, a surprise private violin concert, and castles along the Rhine River. The next, and final, blog will finish up in Frankfurt and any thoughts I might have missed along the way.
New Art:
This is the first of paintings from photos taken during the trip: Zaandam, Netherlands is where most of their windmills are located, approximately 30 minutes NW of Amsterdam. It is 8 x 10 oil on stretched canvas.

Old Art:
A while back I displayed a piece I created for a specific show at the Alliance For The Arts in FtM. The subject is
Dia de Muertos.
The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican heritage elsewhere. The multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. I titled it
Anhelo. It is a juried show and I received the call today, it was accepted in the show.

From my art collection:
Grabbed a book from the library on H Daumier. In it, were photos and discussion of prints (lithographs) I purchased years ago in Paris. Someone still hold the plates and continues to print. They are from a series he did on their court system and attorneys, and clients. The book had two of my three with descriptions, and photos of watercolors he did of the prints. Fun.

Humor:
Found a fun site: Babylon Bee. They parody just about anybody, anything. Recent fun articles were: NASA Scientists Patiently explain to President Trump that the universe does not revolve around him; Millions of Americans take to streets to celebrate end of World Cup; and White Sox attendance now lower than average Episcopal church service.
Listening To:
While painting, listening to Marvin Gaye, Al Green, William Ackerman, Dave Brubeck double live album, Spacecraft, Rachmaninov: Vespers, and The Robert Shaw Festival Singers. If you like quality electric guitar work, I recommend Pipeline recorded by Stevie Ray Vaughn with Dick Dale...just outstanding cover.
