CHRISTMAS IS COMING…Van Gogh exhibit…Love always causes trouble, that’s true, but in its favor, it energizes…

  Mainline Florida: Link to Mainline Florida

I am making more use of links, music and visual. Click on them and then you might have a second link to search. Some locations, such as YouTube generate revenue for your "free" viewing by running ads, so be patient. On occasion there is a "skip ad" button. Sometimes it will load and start when you go there, sometimes you need to click on the white arrow in the red box.

I hope you enjoy the updates to my art and life as presented in this blog. IF you don't like the political stuff and don't want to receive future blogs just say so, no hard feelings. So far, only five have taken me up on the offer. With that in mind, remember: BELOW THE FOLD is where (most) of the controversial stuff is placed. Sometimes stuff is a hybrid, say humor and political. Nevertheless, I do this blog for me, it clears my mind and then I do it to share stuff I think is interesting, fun, needed to be considered, etc. I like, also, the feedback I receive, either on a specific article or the concept in general. Right now there are about 70 of you who receive this directly. Claude

ART:

Literary art and Christmas substitute…Dickens
In Michael Barber’s recent book: The True Meaning of Christmas He says…”Let us return for a moment to Dickens’ famous story about Scrooge. When Fred explains to his miserly uncle why Christmas is so special, he begins with a key statement. Before talking abut Christmas as a kind and charitable season, Scrooge’s nephew makes a vitally important observation. He says that  “veneration” is to be given to Christmas “because of its sacred name and origin” (emphasis added). Dickens is subtle but his meaning is unmistakable. For Fred (and for Dickens), Christmas is sacred because, as its name reveals, it is about Christ.

Thought we would try the tree outside on the lanai this year

Mary’s November 25 message at Medjugorje“Dear children!
I am with you in this time of mercy and I am calling all of you to be carriers of peace and love in this world where, through me, little children, God is calling you to be prayer and love, and an expression of Heaven here on earth.
May your hearts be filled with joy and faith in God; that, little children, you may have complete trust in His holy will. That is why I am with you, because He, the Most High, is sending me among you to encourage you to the hope; and you will be peacemakers in this peaceless world.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Can F-1 beat Indy Car? There is a discussion on YouTube. In Brief…it depends. On F-1 track yes, on oval no as Indy wheels are cambered to turn left and only left, and the corners of the cars are weighted to help them corner at high speeds. You know, all of the bodies and chassis are identical only the engines differ, you can choose Chevy or Honda. I was surprised to hear that they are under 3 liter, but twin turbo.

F-1, all cars are different, how much do you want to spend? No fluted underplates as in Indy. They need to turn left and right, use the strait away to their advantage. Climb and drop. Their engines are under 2 liter😳 I doubt if any drivers are over 6’, they lay in position (I had a diagram in an earlier blog), they can see the tops of their wheels and hood. The brake peddle is almost a fixed plate - you could press to maybe 20% effectiveness.

Both sets of drivers are going over 220 mph - think about that, probably 2x as fast as YOU have ever driven or ridden in a car. Meanwhile, they are shifting, braking, listening to the pit, watching gauges, AND their are, say, 29 other drivers trying to cut you off, beat you in the race. You are managing fuel and tire wear. You have to hit your pt space perfectly.

So, F-1 can go about 14 mph faster on the strait, probably could not beat an Indy car on an oval track.

I found this part amazingly; F-1 has to go fast All Of The Time or the engine and systems shut down. G-forces on your head and body are like that of a fighter jet. It fatigues you. Think about your car…it probably idles at 800, definitely no more than 1,000 RPMs. Think about your red line when you want to shift - maybe 3,000 - 5,000 RPMs. Formula-1: put on your earplugs = idle 8,000RPMs, before you accelerate out of the pit; Red line…18,000 RPMs. 😳

Great link for YouTube video on Can you drive an F-1? Presenter is dorky but some great videos and explanation.       Link to the Video. MUST see
